After much prayerful thought and consideration, the document entitled, "An Appropriate Response: A Declaration of Theology and Action" was submitted to the Presbytery of Santa Barbara and the Presbyterian Church (USA) by the Session of Community Presbyterian Church of Ventura on Reformation Day: October 31, 2006.

The paper was approved by the Presbytery of Santa Barbara on February 10, 2007 and sent to every church and governing body in the PC (USA).  Over 11,000 Presbyterian churches received this declaration.

Recently, a small group of pastors within the Presbytery initiated a process of overturning the Presbytery's decision to approve this document.  We urge you as brothers and sisters in Christ to keep this paper and the future of the Presbyterian Church in your prayers.  We will keep you updated as news comes in.
