Joan Lansing-Eigenhuis
Joan grew up at CPC and has formerly worked in the church's preschool as teacher and director. She currently serves on the Preschool T.E.A.M., leads music for their chapel services, is a Stephen Minister, serves communion to shut-ins once a month, and helps Gil lead music at Aegis and the Townhouse assisted living facilities. She teaches child development courses at Ventura College and does occasional writing and editing for Gospel Light Publications. Joan has two grown children and seven grandchildren. She and Gil were married at CPC in 2003. They enjoy the beach, spending time with friends, traveling, playing with their grandchildren (he has nine) and serving God in areas of shared ministry. Joan's hobby, which Gil does NOT share, is scrapbooking.
C. Gilbert Eigenhuis, Jr.
Gil is a native Californian. He grew up in a "preacher's" home and attended Monte Vista Christian High School and Southern California College, now Vangard University, in Costa Mesa, CA. He was a licensed minister with the Assembly of God, and has held a variety of leadership roles throughout the years. He attended Biola University in the late 90's. Currently Gil is serving his third year as a Deacon at CPC, he is in his third year of teaching Bible studies at the Townhouse, is a Stephen Minister, leads a weekly men's Bible study at home, participates in home communion to shut-ins monthly, helps lead worship at the Aegis and Townhouse bi-monthly, and enjoys active visitation at the Lexington and Victoria Care Center. Music has always been a big part of Gil's life (until his recent accident) and singing in the choir and special ensembles has been a joy. Gil and Joan Lansing-Eigenhuis were joined in marriage in June of 2003 and continue to celebrate a life dedicated to Christian service and family. Gil is the proud father of three adult children and nine grandchildren. Gil enjoys Bible study, music and movies ... in that order ... as favorite ways to enjoy the day.
